Reptilicus & Stereo Hypnosis

Íslensku hljómsveitirnar Reptilicus og Stereo Hypnosis sameina krafta sína á fágætum raftónleikum í Mengi í hjarta Reykjavíkur. Waveshaper Television (frá framleiðendum hinnar vinsælu heimildarmyndar I Dream of Wires) kvikmynda tónleikana fyrir umfjöllun sína um hljómsveitirnar.

Reptilicus
Hljómsveitin Reptilicus, samstarfsverkefni Jóhanns Eiríkssonar og Guðmundar I. Markússonar, hefur starfað síðan 1988 og telst til brautryðjenda tilraunakenndrar raftónlistar á Íslandi. Meðal áhrifavalda sveitarinnar má nefna bresku iðnaðarraftónlistina, þýska krautrokkið og dadahreyfinguna. Reptilicus hefur staðið að margvíslegum útgáfum hérlendis og erlendis þar sem ólík stílbrigði mætast í deiglu raftónlistar. Um þessar mundir vinnur sveitin að heildarendurútgáfu verka sinna ásamt nýju efni í samstarfi við kanadíska fyrirtækið Artoffact Records.

Stereo Hypnosis
Stereo Hypnosis varð til í Flatey 2006, stofnuð af feðgunum Óskari og Pan Thorarensen. Tónskáldið Þorkell Atlason gekk til liðs við sveitina 2014 og hafa þeir síðan ferðast beggja vegna atlantsála og leikið á öllum helstu raftónlistarhátíðum. Stereo Hypnosis hefur gefið út sex plötur á sínum ferli og hefur tónlistinni verið lýst sem lífrænt kryddaðri og sveimkenndri raftónlist.

Waveshaper Television
WS-TV, sem er hugarfóstur framleiðenda hinnar vinsælu heimildarmyndar I Dream of Wires (2014), er væntanleg áskriftarstöð á Netinu sem verður helguð sögu raftónlistar ásamt umfjöllun um raflistamenn og þróun hljóðgervlatækni.

Icelandic bands Reptilicus and Stereo Hypnosis appear for a rare occasion of electronic music in Mengi in the heart of Reykjavík. Waveshaper Television (from the producers of the 2014 hit independent film I Dream of Wires) will be shooting the concert as part of their upcoming profile of the bands.

Reptilicus
Reptilicus, a collaboration of two Icelanders, Jóhann Eiríksson and Guðmundur I. Markússon, has stalked the fringes of the Icelandic musical landscape since 1988 and counts among the pioneers of electronic, industrial, and experimental music in Iceland. Taking its cue from the intricacies of industrial electronica, the creativity of krautrock, and Dada, Reptilicus have issued a number of releases on tape, vinyl, anti-vinyl and CD where experiments, noise, percussion, 8mm and wind instruments fuse in an electronic crucible. Currently, Reptilicus is preparing a complete re-issue of its works along with new material in collaboration with Canadian label Artoffact Records.

Stereo Hypnosis
Stereo Hypnosis began its life in the remote island Flatey in 2006. Originally founded by father and son Óskar and Pan Thorarensen, joined by the composer Thorkell Atlason in 2014. The trio has developed an organic electronic sound, serene and downtempo, and to date released 6 albums. Stereo Hypnosis has toured both sides of the Atlantic in recent years and are currently working on various collaborative projects.
