Hið frábæra Duo Harpverk, skipað þeim Katie Buckley á hörpu og Frank Aarnink á slagverk, blæs til tónleika í Mengi föstudagskvöldið 8. september. Á efnisskrá er tónlist hinnar sænsku Jenny Hettne (f. 1977) fyrir hörpu, slagverk, spiladósir, rafhljóð og söngrödd en söngkonan Tui Hirv kemur fram í einu verkanna.

Jenny Hettne is a composer of acoustic and electroacoustic music, with the exploration of sound and timbre as her most important focus. Her acoustic music is very much influenced by electroacoustic music and vice versa. She lives in Stockholm.
Jenny was born 1977 in Göteborg. She finished her master degree in music composition at the Academy of Music and Drama, Göteborg University, in 2008. Studies also include Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, Berlin (2007), Gotland School of Music Composition (2000-02) and musiciology at University of Göteborg (1998-99)
Jenny's music has been performed by, among others, Gageego!, Norrbotten Neo, Duo Ego, The Peärls Before Swïne Experience and UmeDuo (Sweden), Caput, Duo Harpverk (Iceland), The Griffyn Ensemble (Australia), ensemble dissonArt (Greece) and Chamber Ensemble New Music in Ukraine. Wavering wood, whirling metal written for Duo Harpverk was released on the record "The greenhouse sessions" in 2012. Per Tengstrand and Jönköpings Sinfonietta premiered Krusning Skiktning for piano and orchestra in 2013.
Jennys close collaboration with the oboists Dimas Ruiz Santos and Magdalena Fronzcak resulted in Reed, chanting for oboe and tape, and performances in Sweden and Spain. The piece was selected to Nordic Music Days in Stockholm 2012, performed by Kennet Bohman. While she was dreaming for violin and tape is one of the pieces resulting from Jennys collaboration with Karin Hellqvist. Tinkles, clinks and heavenly metal was premiered in Copenhagen in May 2013 by Faint Noise: Karin Hellqvist, violin, Anna Petrini, contrabass recorder and Malin Bång, soundobjects/electronics. A swarm came in from the dark for violin and ensemble was premiered by Karin Hellqvist and Gageego! in march 2015. Malmö Symphony Orchestra premiered her piece Whirli(gigue), commissioned by Swedish Radio, in May 2017.
