Skerpla
Skerpla er nýstofnaður tilraunatónlistarhópur Listaháskóla Íslands. Hópurinn kemur reglulega fram og flytur tónlist eftir meðlimi hópsins sem og annarra.
Skerpla vinnur út frá þema hátíðarinnar 'Þjóð meðal Þjóða', en meðlimir hópsins munu flytja frumsamið upplesið efni.
Auk þess að koma fram á Cycle kemur Skerpla fram í tónleikaröðinni Verpa eggjum sem fer fram á haustönn 2018 í Mengi og víðar. Stjórnandi Skerplu er Berglind María Tómasdóttir

Skerpa is an experimental music ensemble recently founded at Iceland University of the Arts. Skerpla explores sounds by members of the group as well as performing works from the field. Using the festival‘s theme “Inclusive Nation“ as a starting point, members of experimental ensemble Skerpla will perform original audio essays in time and space. Skerpla is a newly founded experimental music ensemble at the Iceland University of the Arts. Curator: Berglind María Tómasdóttir.

Jesper Pedersen
Jesper er tónskáld, performer og kennari búsettur í Reykjavík. Undanfarið hefur hann aðallega unnið að gjörningum með modular synthesizerum sem hann nýtir sér bæði í einstaklingsverkefnum og samstarfi.
Tónlistinni hans hefur stundum verið lýst sem "fallegri, næmri og helvíti ambiant".
Jesper er meðlimur S.L.Á.T.U.R. Fengjastrúts, Resterne af Rigsfællesskabet, Atónal Blús og Synesiotechnoikema.

Jesper Pedersen is a composer, performer and educator based in Reykjavík. Recently he's been focusing on live performance using modular synthesizers both solo and in different collaborations. His music has been described as: "Beautiful, subtle" and "Ambient as hell".
He is a part of the Icelandic composers collective S.L.Á.T.U.R., the experimental ensemble Fengjastrútur, Resterne af Rigsfællesskabet, Atónal Blús and Synesiotechnoikema.

Pétur Eggertsson
Pétur Eggertsson er ungt Reykvískt tónskáld. Tónsmíðar hans fara þvert á listgreinar en hann rannsakar hvernig önnur efni en hljóð geta nýst í tónlist, m.a. mynd, hreyfingu, ilmo o.fl. Myndlist, leikhús og aðrir heimar blandast við tónlistina og bæta við nýrri vídd, umfram hljóði og samhljómi. Tilraunir hans felast í óhefðbundinni notkun hljóðfæra, notkun tækni og gagnvirkni, þróun nýrra tegunda nótnaskriftar/skora og samspil hreyfimynda og hljóðs. Verk hans leitast við að afbyggja hlutverk flytjandans og að gera óhljóðbundna þætti að sjálfstæðu tónefni. Hann útskrifaðist með BA gráðu í tónsmíðum frá Listaháskóla Íslands vorið 2018 og stundar nú Meistaranám í tónsmíðum hjá James Fei, Laetitia Sonami og Zeena Parkins í Mills College í Oakland, Kaliforníu.

Skor er skrifað af okkur. Við gefum þeim skorið. Við fylgjum, þau fylgja. Við hlýðum, þau hlýða. Skilyrðislaust. Þegar skorið brenglast reynum við að fylgja en þau fylgja mun betur en við mögulega getum. Þau skilja sig ekki sjálf frekar en við skiljum okkur sjálf. Þau skilja sig ekki sjálf því við sköpuðum þau og við skiljum hvorki okkur nér þau. Þau skilja okkur. Með skilyrðum. Þegar þau brengla sitt eigið skor, verða skipanirnar óljósar, samt fylgjum við. Við kunnum að fylgja en við vitum ekki lengur hver fylgjir hverjum; hver skipar fyrir og hver hlýðir; hver stjórnar; hverjir eru við og hverjir eru þau.

Pétur Eggertsson is a young composer from Reykjavík. His compositions have cross- disciplinary results and research how other materials than sound, like images, motions and smells can be used in the act of making music.

Singular Touch: 22
The score is written by us. We give them the score. We follow, they follow. We obey, they obey. Without any conditions. When the score becomes distorted we try to follow but they are better at it. They do not understand themselves any more than we understand us. They do not understand themselves because we created them and neither understand us or them. They understand us. With conditions. When they distort their own score, the commands become unclear, but still we follow. We know how to follow but are still not sure who follows who; who demands and who obeys; who are we and who are they.

Stellan Veloce
Stellan er tónskáld, performer og sellóleikari frá Sardiníu. Hán er búin að vera búsett í Berlín síðan 2010 þar sem hán vinnur að því að klára mastersnám undir Prof. Daniel Ott í Udk.
Hán var með í að stofna veftímaritið Y-E-S.org.

Stellan Veloce is a sardinian composer, performer and cellist. They live and work in Berlin since 2010 where they are currently finishing their masters in composition with Prof. Daniel Ott at the Universität der Künste. They are co-founder of the online platform for intermedia scores Y-E- S.org.

Tyler Friedman
Tyler er tónskáld sem vinnur milli tilraunakenndrar tónlistar og samtíma myndlistar. Verkin vitna í vísindaskáldsögur, synthesis, hefðbundna heimstónlist og klúbbakúltúr. Verkefnin hans fara í margar mismunandi áttir innan fjölbreytts efniviðs. Þetta kvöld mun hann spinna á lítinn modular synthesizer, hljóðfæri sem hann hefur unnið mikið með síðan 2009.

Tyler Friedman is a composer operating on the spectrum between experimental music and conceptually inclined contemporary art. Drawing on elements of Synthesis, Science Fiction, Traditional Global Musics and Club Culture, his projects work in many directions across various media. Tonight he will do an improvisation on a small modular synthesizer, an instrument he has been focused on since 2009.
