A brief musical history of time is when synthpop meets theoretical physics.
What are black holes and what did Stephen Hawking do to them, which made him so famous? While the Dutch band Red Panel sets the stage with cosmically flavoured synth-pop, physicist Watse Sybesma (postdoc at University of Iceland) will guide you into orbit around this dazzling question -- and many more. Expect an evening with experimental music and theoretical physics. Expect the unexpected. Don’t worry, we’ll end with the beginning: the big bang.
No prerequisites needed, just sit back, open up your mind, and let the music carry you along this mind-bending adventure through the physics of the past century. A brief musical history of time.
Red Panel is a cosmically flavoured synthpop/indieband from The Netherlands. After having operated in the dark for five years, the band will give their first performance in Reykjavik. For this special occasion Red Panel features Iceland based physicist Watse Sybesma, who will share his love for black holes, big bang(s) and beyond.
Red Panel consists of Jasper Fabius, Arnout Jansen, Gertjan Jansen and (in Icelandic formation) Manje Brinkhuis.
The doors open at 20:30 - Tickets are 2.000 ISK.
