Mesh er tilraun í umhverfissálfræði, samstarfi og hljóði undir stjórn Clay Chaplin. Í júnímánuði mun hópur hljóðlistafólks frá Los Angeles, Chicago og Reykjavík dvelja í húsi í sveit á suðurlandi og skapa nýtt hljóðverk í gegnum tilraunir, spuna og samvinnu.
Hver meðlimur hópsins er einstakur tón-, hljóðlistamaður og spunaleikari og sem mun leggja fram eigin hugmyndir og áhrif í sköpunarferlið. Hljóðfæraskipan er fjölbreytt og samanstendur af tölvum, hljóðgervlum, víólum, röddum, fundnum hljóðgjöfum, hurdy-gurdy og viola da gamba.
Þau hefja samvinnu sína án fyrirfram ákveðins forms, en eru með útganspunkta á borð við drón, endurtekningar, umhverfisupptökur, tónlistararf miðalda, söng, óhefðbundnar stillingar, hljóðfræði og samsuðu rafhljóða uppöku og lifandi hljóða.

Mesh is an experiment in psycho-geography, collaboration, and sound led by Clay Chaplin. During the month of June, a group of sound artists from Los Angeles, Chicago, and Reykjavik will take residence in a large, isolated house in the southern part of Iceland.
Through experimentation, improvisation, and collaboration they will create a new sonic work. Each collaborator is a unique musician, sound artist, and improvisor and will bring their own ideas and influences to the creative process. The instrumentation is diverse and will include laptops, electronics, violas, voice, found objects, hurdy-gurdy, and viola da gamba.
They do not have a set structure going into their work together but topical starting points include: droning, repetition, field recording, medieval folk traditions, chant, alternate tunings, acoustics, and a general blending of purely electronic, recorded, and acoustic sounds.
