Hvalakór í MENGI

Myndlistarkonan Marina Rees og tónskáldið Guðmundur Steinn Gunnarsson taka höndum saman og bjóða gestum að hlusta á hvalakór í Mengi sem er afrasktur samvinnu þeirra beggja.

Verkið er byggt á raunverulegum hvalahljóðum sem listamennirnir hafa stúderað og útsett fyrir kór.

Whale Choir

An interactive installation and performance exploring our relationship with whales through sounds including a human choir singing whale sounds.

Visual artist Marina Rees collaborated with composer Guðmundur Steinn Gunnarsson, who created a piece by manipulating actual whale sounds which will be performed by the choir, alongside whale bones and projected video works.

Marina Rees has been researching and mapping the skeletons of whales using sound. Based in Iceland, the artist would create installations receiving live transmissions from marine environments, collaborating with a whale choir. Do not miss this exclusive event.
