Daníel, Magnús og Jonathan eiga sameiginlegt að vera fjölhæfir tónlistarmenn sem koma víða við í sinni tónlistarsköpun. Þeir hafa fengist við frjálsan spuna, popp, djass og hip hop svo að nokkur dæmi séu tekin, bæði sem hljóðfæraleikarar, upptökustjórar eða lagahöfundar. Tónleikar þeirra í Mengi verða fyrsta skiptið sem þeir spila þrír saman og von er á áhugaverðum og líflegum spuna.

Jonathan Jull Ludvigsen is a drummer from Aarhus, Denmark. Through superior coordination and a very playful approach to any given genre he throws himself at, he has begun setting his mark on the jazzscene in Denmark. His trio Athletic Progression has been one of the first “new jazz” groups to receive recognition in Denmark, and has grown and evolved simultaneously with the UK Jazz scene. Their debut album “Dark Smoke” received 2 nominations at this years DMA jazz awards. Other than being a new addition to the jazz scene in Denmark, Jonathan is also involved with a lot of other projects. He has worked with formerly Reykjavik based Sara Flindt of ZAAR as a musician/producer on her latest EP, and played an acclaimed show at last years Airwaves festival. Throughout the year Jonathan has also been touring with Erika de Casier with her album “Essentials” which has been appointed best album of the year and decade by blogs and magazines such as Gorilla vs Bear and Crackmagazine. His work throughout the year has gained him a nomination for “Best musician” at the Danish critics award, Steppeulven.

Daníel Friðrik is a guitarist that works in the realm of jazz, rock and electronic music. He graduated from Jazz Institut Berlin in 2014. Daníel has performed with Megas, Greg Cohen, Skúli Sverrisson, Wadada Leo Smith, John Hollenbeck, Christian Lillinger, Ólöf Arnalds, Högni, President Bongo, Kristín Anna and many more.

Magnús Jóhann is an Icelandic composer, record producer and keyboard player. He has pursued a diverse range of styles in his solo work as well as in his work as a session player and as a producer. Magnús graduated from the Reykjavík College of Jazz, where he studied composition with Skúli Sverrisson along with jazz piano. Magnús was awarded 3rd place at the Icelandic Music Experiments in 2016, the same year he released his first album „Pronto“, a collection of ambient works and improvised pieces. Magnús Jóhann has also made music for theater and film.
