Pólskt - íslenskt tónlistarsamtal / polsko - islandzki dialog muzyczny
Í gær og í dag er tónlistarsamstarf Szczecin Vocal Project frá Szczecin, Póllandi og Dúó Funa og Kvæðamannafélagsins Iðunnar frá Reykjavík.
Tilgangur samtalsins er að kanna þjóðlega tónlistarhefð hvors lands fyrir sig og þá samtímatónlist sem sprottin er úr þeim þjóðlega jarðvegi, þar á meðal nýjar tónsmíðar. Verkefnavinnan að þessu sinni fer fram frá september 2022 til apríl 2024.
Það sem vegur þyngst í dagskránni eru þrjár heimsóknir tónlistarfólks frá Szczecin og þrjár heimsóknir íslensks tónlistarfólks til Póllands. Opinberir tónleikar, vinnustofur og fyrirlestrar verða haldnir meðan á heimsóknunum stendur. Fyrsta heimsóknin til Íslands er nú væntanleg. Fjórir félagar úr Szczecin Vocal Project ásamt stjórnanda sínum Pawel Osuchowski og hinn virti söngvari og tónlistarfræðingur Adam Strug sækja okkur heim vikuna 14.-21. nóvember 2022. Meðan á heimsókn stendur verða haldnir þrennir tónleikar, tvær vinnustofur og tveir fyrirlestrar.

Love songs from the Green Forest and the Water Valley will be a concert of folk songs from the Kurpie region of north-east Poland and Vatnsdalur in the north of Iceland. Two regions with very strong and very different song traditions. Adam Strug and Bára Grímsdóttir each grew up surrounded by the songs of their home regions and carry them with passion into the present day. Expect to hear powerful, moving, uncluttered voices.
This concert is part of Í gær og í dag / Wczoraj i dziś (Yesterday and Today), a musical collaboration between the Szczecin Vocal Project from Szczecin, Poland and the duo Funi and Kvæðamannafélagið Iðunn from Reykjavík. The project will explore the traditional folk music of each country and contemporary music growing out of those traditions, including new compositions. The project takes place between September 2022 and April 2024.
