9 YEARS OF MENGI

It's our birthday! To celebrate that MENGI has made it 9 times around the sun, we asked the incomparable Mr. Silla and dj. flugvél og geimskip – two of our favourite acts who have been steady MENGI friends throughout the years – to come and play.

Mr. Silla (Sigurlaug Gísladóttir) has been a fixture both in and around the Icelandic music scene since the start of her involvement with electronic pioneers, múm, in her early 20’s. She has since solidified her pop prowess with the release of her debut self-titled album in 2015, and has shown her creative versatility through musical collaborations as well as in the world of design and visual art.

dj. flugvél og geimskip (Airplane and Spaceship) is the solo project of Steinunn Eldflaug that draws influences from a thousand worlds. Defined as electronic horror ­music with a space twist, the music is a mix of playful beats, cool bass, catchy melodies and high ­pitched vocals.

Admission is 3000 ISK.
