Hjáleið | Déviation er hljóð- og vídjóverk eftir tónlistarkonuna Asalaus og kvikmyndagerðarmanninn Ferdinand Ledoux. Verkið var búið til á meðan höfundar þess voru staddir í sitthvoru landinu, annað þeirra í Frakklandi og hitt í Danmörku. Sendibréf úr hljóðum og myndum, ein Super 8 filma, og teiplúppur, voru leiðarvísir í þessari tilraun til að sameinast úr fjarlægð.

Engin skil voru sett á milli tónlistar og myndbands við gerð verksins. Myndræn mótíf og tónstef haldast í hendur og höfundarnir skiptust stöðugt á efni til að næra hvort annað, og í gegnum þetta ferli varð verkið smám saman til.

Asalaus mun flytja tónlist verksins live á meðan myndbandinu er varpað á bakvið hana. Sífelld endursköpun, bergmál, viðbrögð og svör við myndbandinu munu einkenna flutninginn, á meðan áhorfendum er boðið að setjast á þessa brú sem höfundarnir tveir byggðu á milli sín.

Hjáleið | Déviation is a visual and sound performance created by the musician Asalaus and the filmmaker Ferdinand Ledoux.The project was joined and shaped by the two artists while they were in different countries, one in France, the other in Denmark. Letters made of sounds and images, one Super 8 film roll and tape loops, were the leading guidelines in this attempt to join, to connect, to make a song out of distance.

No barriers were put between music and film during the process. The two artists used visual and sound motifs as the same entity, nourishing each other's voices to create a single object, to unfold a story from this stream of passages.

During the event, the film will be projected while Asalaus performes live in front of it. Re-shaping, guiding, reacting to the different layers of the film, mirroring echoes and colors, letting the audience sit on this bridge made by those two voices.
