Justin Ashworth is a sound artist/composer from Melbourne Australia.

In late 2015 Justin spent 3 months in Seyðisfjörður at HEIMA Artist Residency. What was originally planned to be a direct response and representation of place became a challenging rediscovery of process, and over the years since the original compositional sketches began, the project has become more study in memory and reminiscence. Sound becomes an inadequate form of time travel; complete with the usual risks of such an adventure, with each trip to the past altering the future of the project.

Using modular synthesizer and other electronics, Justin navigates these sonic memories - sounds recorded in the field around Seydisfjordur and Myvatn - creating imaginary landscapes, immersive new sound worlds for the audience to be lost in. Justin brings the sounds home to complete the project, to present the outcome as a gift to audiences in Iceland, as dedication, and exchange.
