Ben Salter is an Australian songwriter and performer, currently based in the southern state of Tasmania.

He has toured around Australia and the world as a solo performer and as a member of Giants of Science, folk collective The Gin Club and bluegrass supergroup The Wilson Pickers.

He also is a member of three piece post-punk band Hownowmer.

Ben is returning to Europe for his fourth solo tour, in support of his new album Back Yourself.

Salter experiments with a variety of styles, from dark acoustic ballads to rock songs to avant garde soundscapes and even instrumentals. When performing live, Salter generally performs solo with an acoustic guitar and an array of pedals.

He has toured & performed in Australia with artists including Cat Power, Iron & Wine & J Mascis to name a few.

Salter is very much a ‘songwriter’s songwriter’, with an unique outlook and inimitable musical style. In this respect he is comparable to artists such as John Cale, Robert Wyatt and David Byrne.
