Aristókrasía | Úlfur Eldjárn
Úlfur Eldjárn kemur fram á tónleikum í Mengi undir merkjum hliðarverkefnis síns, Aristókrasía. Hann mun flytja nýja raftónllist og verk í vinnslu sem hann hefur í hyggju að gefa út í náinni framtíð.
Tónlistin er að sögn Úlfs endurtekningagjörn og hreinsandi fyrir líkama og sál, íhugul innri danstónlist fyrir sálarlífið. Verkefnið er óbeint framhald af plötu Úlfs, The Aristókrasía Project, og er m.a. undir áhrifum frá þýskri kosmískri raftónlist frá 8. áratugnum, sóvéskri eróbiktónlist, Ítaló Diskói, Art of Noise, Alan Vega, Yello o.fl. o.fl.
Úlfur Edjárn hefur samið ógrynni tónlistar fyrir kvikmyndir, sjónvarp og leikhús, auk eigin tónlistar. Meðal tónverka hans eru gagnvirku verkin Strengjakvartettinn endalausi og Reykjavík GPS sem var frumflutt á Listahátíð Reykjavíkur 2018. Úlfur er auk þess meðlimur í Orgelkvartettinum Apparat og nýlega endurgerði hann lag Null + Void og hinn goðsagnakenndara söngvara Dave Gahan (Depeche Mode).

Úlfur Eldjárn will be performing at Mengi, under his electronic side project alias, Aristókrasía.
He’s going to perform new electronic music and works in progress. The music, according to Úlfur, is repetitive and cleansing for body and soul, a sort of introspective inner dance music for the spirit. The project is a follow up to his record, The Aristókrasía Project, and sites influences such as the German wave of “kosmische” electronic music in the 70’s, Soviet Aerobic work out music, Italo Disco, Art of Noise, Alan Vega, Yello and more and more. Úlfur Eldjárn has composed steadily for film, TV and theatre, along his own musical projects. Among his compositions are the interactive works, The Infinite String Quartet and Reykjavík GPS which premiered last year at the Reykjavík Arts Festival. Úlfur is also a member of Apparat Organ Quartet and recently he created a rework of the song ‘Where I Wait’ by electronic act Null + Void and Dave Gahan, legendary singer of Depeche Mode.
