Sól Ey and Þorsteinn Eyfjörð both research the field of new musical media; acoustic and electronic. For this evening, they will share the stage with self made instruments, digital manipulation of the organic and throat cutting sub bass.
Þorsteinn Eyfjörð Þórarinsson (b.1995) is an Icelandic artist currently living in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Þorsteinn studied visual art at the Icelandic Academy of Art and the Royal Academy of Art in Den Haag, The Netherlands.
Alongside his visual art studies he studied Jazz Piano and electronic sound design. His practice evolves around time based mediums with focus on sound in dialogue with architectural space and distortion of time. His work has been shown in Iceland, The Netherlands, Norway and Germany.
Þorsteinn is a frequent collaborator of CLEANTV, working on sound design and composition for their artwork.
Sól Ey or Sóley Sigurjónsdóttir (b. 1996) is an Icelandic sound artist, instrument developer and performer based in The Hague. Her work focuses on interdisciplinary approach to sound through interactivity, new media and the relationship between sound and space. By composing and experimenting with new instruments she looks for ways to expand the expression of a musical performance to be visual, physical or interactive.
Sól Ey is currently studying composition and sonology at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague.
