Ingi Bjarni Skúlason is an Icelandic pianist/composer of considerable distinction and finesse, creatively seeking to shun boundaries in style or genre. Building collaborations that challenge and excite, especially with musicians from his Icelandic homeland and Scandinavia, his original works – informed by jazz tradition, Nordic folksong and electronica – rise up from a wellspring of meticulously-shaped imaginings; intuitive ideas inspired by relentlessly searching improvisation. He makes his own kind of folk music with the freedom of expressiveness, and space for both lyrical and free improvisation. His album releases have gotten positive attention worldwide and received good reviews. - https://www.ingibjarni.com
