Kaktus Einarsson mun leika lög af nýútkominni plötu sinni Kick The Ladder þann 29. júlí næstkomandi í Mengi. Á plötunni vinnur Kaktus með þá hugmynd að blanda reynslu sinni sem lagahöfundur og upptökustjóri saman við þekkingu sína á sviði tónsmíða. Í þeirri vinnu fékk notkun á undirbúnu píanói mikilvægt hlutverk í samstarfi við franska píanistann Thibault Gomez, en hann mun vera Kaktusi til halds og traust á tónleikunum í Mengi, auk Kurt Uenala (sem sá um upptökustjórn með Kaktusi á plötunni), Alberti Finnbogasyni og Helga Svavari Helgasyni.
Kick The Ladder kom út 21. maí á vegum bresku útgáfunnar One Little Independant Records en þetta verður í fyrsta skipti sem Kaktus mun koma fram undir eigin nafni og flytja þessa tónlist á tónleikum. Kaktus er þó enginn nýgræðingur á senunni, þar sem hann hefur starfað með hljómsveitinni Fufanu síðustu ár og með henni hitað upp fyrir hljómsveitir á borð við Radiohead og Red Hot Chili Peppers hér á landi, auk ófárra tónleikaferða með viðkomu á þekktum tónlistarhátíðum á borð við Primavera Sound, Rock Werchter, Musilac og Down The Rabbit Hole.

Kaktus Einarsson will take the stage on July 29th at Mengi and play songs from his debut solo album ‘Kick The Ladder’. On the album Kaktus explores how he can blend his skills as a songwriter and producer with his knowledge as a composer. During that work, in collaboration with Thibault Gomez, the use of a prepared piano took on an important role, and will Gomez, along with Kurt Uenala (who co-produced the album with Kaktus), Albert Finnbogason and Helgi Svavar Helgason be joining Kaktus on the stage for the concert.
Kick The Ladder was released on the 21st of May through One Little Independent Records, and will this be the first time that Kaktus performs solo with the music from the album in concert. Kaktus is though far away from being new to the scene. He has been an active member with the band Fufanu for the last years, opening up for bands like Radiohead and Red Hot Chilli Peppers in his hometown Reykjavík and touring in Europe and USA with stops at festivals like Primavera Sound, Rock Werchter, Musilac and Down The Rabbit Hole.
