Sandrayati
Born and raised on the Indonesian islands of Java and Bali, and drawing on her Filipino and American/Irish heritage, Sandrayati performs in several languages as if singing out the contour of volcanos with wild, dynamic and tender emotion.
After studying theatre at Emerson College in Boston, Sandrayati focused on developing her voice at Berklee College of Music. Preceding this she began to cultivate her career in Indonesia, to continue composing and reconnecting with her roots by touring Southeast Asia.
Sandrayati's debut live EP, Bahasa Hati (Language of the heart), independently released in 2017 lures you in with lyrical prose, poetry and sounds of the mountain where she grew up. Her 3 year collaboration with Indonesian artists, Danilla Rivadi and Rara Sekar as 'Daramuda Project' released two EPs, creating a platform for supporting women in the independent creative industry of Indonesia.
Over the years, Sandrayati was sought out for collaboration with legendary
musicians, honoring her for active environmental and social presence, including Indonesian Iwan Fals and Icelandic Bubbi Morthens. Her latest EP, 'Nest', was self-recorded in Iceland where she is now based. She is currently finishing her debut studio album, co-produced by Ólafur Arnalds.
Andervel
In Andervel, Mexican folk music meets Iceland’s emotional landscapes.
Earnest, intimate, heartfelt, delicate: Andervel is the music project of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist José Luis Anderson. Born and raised in Mexico, Anderson currently lives in Iceland. Andervel acts as homage to his family roots, his classical singing background, and his maturation in the Icelandic arts scene.
Celebrated as “a rare pearl in Spanish-language music” by Spanish-American media outlet Al Día, Andervel’s hotly anticipated EP, “Noche,” was released in late 2020. “Noche” includes singles “No Sé” and "Faðmaðu mig" featuring Icelandic artist JóiPé . Andervel is currently working on a second album which partners his sincere and timeless brand of folk-pop with his development as a composer in a multi-cultural experience.
Andervel has worked with other artists such as Elín Hall, Sóley, Lea kampmann, amongst others, and has been chosen as Icelandic representative in the Global Music Match initiative, 2022.
