Dansarinn Inês Zinho Pinheiro og tónskáldið Lilja María Ásmundsdóttir hafa unnið saman að ýmsum verkefnum síðan 2018. Síðastliðin tvö ár hafa þær skipst á myndböndum, hljóðbrotum og hugsunum tengdum innra lífi flytjandans. Úr hugmyndum þeirra varð til verkið Internal Human sem hefur þróast bæði sem myndbandsinnsetning og sem sviðsverk. Myndbandsinnsetningin verður frumsýnd í Mengi þann 28. apríl. Sýningin opnar kl. 12:00 og lýkur kl. 18:00.

Verkið er innblásið af hljóðskúlptúr sem Lilja smíðaði árið 2020. Skúlptúrinn var hannaður út frá hugmyndum um hvers konar hreyfingar myndast náttúrulega þegar leikið er á strengina. Lilja spilar á skúlptúrinn á meðan Inês yfirfærir hreyfingar hennar á mismunandi umhverfi sem hafa einhvers konar sjónræna tengingu við hönnun skúlptúrsins. Borgarlandslagið veitir Inês innblástur til að þróa síðan hreyfingarnar í nýjar áttir.

The dancer Inês Zinho Pinheiro and the musician Lilja María Ásmundsdóttir have been working together on various projects since 2018. For the past two years, they have been exchanging videos, sounds and thoughts connected to performing. Their ideas have developed into the piece Internal Human which exists both as a video installation and also as a live performance.

The video installation will be premiered in Mengi on the 28th of April. The exhibition opens at 12:00 and closes at 18:00. Free admission and everyone welcome.

The piece is inspired by Lilja’s instrument, a large string sculpture she built in 2020. While playing the string sculpture, Lilja explores movements that emerge naturally from interacting with the sculpture. Inês takes these movements and translates them to different environments that were chosen based on shapes found in the design of the sculpture. Inês interacts with these environments, using architectural shapes as inspiration for developing the movements
