Trigger (NYC) will be stopping through Reykajvik to do some improvising on their way to Molde Jazz Festival to present compositions by John Zorn.

Trigger is an avant-garde rock trio comprised of Will Greene (guitar) Simon Hanes (bass) and Aaron Edgcomb (drums). With roots in noise, improvisation, and hardcore, Trigger focuses on intense rhythmic interplay that can shift on a dime to long paced textural development, always driven by a unique unrelenting energy.

Formed in Boston in 2014, Trigger has toured extensively with performances at the Museum of Modern Art PS1, the Philharmonie de Paris, Hamburg's ElbPhilharmonie and a variety of experimental music festivals. Currently based in Brooklyn, NY, Trigger creates music that seeks to challenge listener's preconceptions about pacing, intensity, and identity.

Early in its conception Trigger began a long lasting collaboration with composer John Zorn centered around Zorn's collection of Bagatelles. These are 300 short pieces played by some of the world's most well-known improvisers. Uniquely adaptable to many aesthetics, the Bagatelles serve as jumping off points for spontaneous composition while centering the improvisations around a clear identity. Trigger utilizes its energetic and hyper-virtuosic style to realize one of the fiercest and emotionally scathing interpretations of the pieces.
