Stabat Mater er tónlistartúlkun á þjáningum heilagrar Maríu við krossfestingu Krists. Í þessu verkefni mætast rödd, gítar og rafhljóð og endurskapa þessa þekktu sögu frá nýju sjónarhorni.

Tónleikarnir hefjast á Electric Counterpoint eftir Steve Reich, sem er mínimalískt verk fyrir rafmagnsgítar og segulband sem var pantað af Next Wave Festival Brooklyn Academy of Music fyrir Pat Metheny árið 1987.

Stabat Mater is a meditation on the sufferings of Holy Mary during the crucifixion of Christ. In this project Voice, guitar, and electronics meet to recreate this setting with a different perspective. We recreated a Stabat Mater starting from the work of Marco Rosano and reinterpreting pieces by Dowland and Monteverdi who share the theme of mortality in a symbolic and poetic way. The electronics are made up of noises and sounds that pass from the first to the last song through common elements. Aggressive and at times frightening sounds that thanks to a pure and crystalline voice go to recreate this prayer, and each of us can take part in it.
The concert will be opened with Steve Reich's Electric Counterpoint, a minimalist piece for Electric guitar and Tape commissioned by the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Next Wave Festival for Pat Metheny in 1987.
