Ólöf Arnalds is an Icelandic composer and multi-instrumentalist. Her most distinctive asset is, nonetheless, her voice of instantly captivating, spring water chasteness possessed of a magical, otherworldly quality that is simultaneously innocent yet ancient (“somewhere between a child and an old woman” according to no less an authority than Björk). Singer songwriter Ólöf Arnalds is this week in the final stages of recording her new and much anticipated album, Tár í morgunsárið. Therefore she will be fit as a fiddle to perform her latest work to the guests of Mengi this Thursday evening, along with previous compositions known to those who already have turned on to her music. Guests can expect an evening of the beautiful songs and honest storytelling that have become Ólöf's trademark through the years.
