Leila Bordreuil is a cellist, composer, improviser and sound artist based in Brooklyn. Her musical language borrows concepts from harsh noise, free-jazz, contemporary-classical and other experimental traditions but adheres to no single genre.
Driven by a fierce interest in pure sound and inherent texture, Leila challenges conventional cello practice through original extended techniques and extreme amplification methods.
Her compositions explore psychoacoustic happenings and sound-spatialization through multichannel and site-specific pieces.
Her musical collaborations are numerous and diverse, and recent/ongoing collaborators include Bill Nace (Body/Head), Tamio Shiraishi (Fushitutsa), Zach Rowden (Tongue Depressor), Kali Malone, Luke Stewart (Irreversible Entanglements), Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth), and Laurel Halo.

Onokio is the pseudonym for Zach Williams, a musician / composer / programmer / developer
who arranges processed sound waves into compositions that evoke the otherworldly / outer-
realms through customized systems on a computer / other instruments. At the core of the sound
there is a resonance with the oneiric; bombastic at times with spiraling mania of
melody/percussive intensity, and other moments a slow synthesized harmonic pulse. These
characteristics are explored on Onokio’s latest album, “Pyl”, released March 2024 on
Tokinogake records. His span of work has been described at different points in time as
“experimental”, “ambient”, “electronic”, “computer music”, “harsh / techno / deconstructed club
music”, and “neo-classical”. These words are mapped to the many albums released (in this
form) over the last 6 years, “Entity Upload Entry, “◖ ᴖ ᴥ ᴖ ◗ ♪ ♫”, “spirit iota”, “evaporating in the
data center”, “terminus” and most recently, “Pyl”.
