Matt Robidoux is a San Francisco based composer, improviser, and educator interested in the convergence of movement and sound as it relates to free improvisation and accessibility. Their primary instrument is the “corn synth” — (Kinetically Operated Randomness Network) a modular system that interprets physical input from two “ears of corn” sculptures cast in aluminum.

The modular environment, configured around two touch controlled aluminum cast ears of corn, is informed by my ongoing work with Pauline Oliveros’ final project AUMI (Adaptive Use Musical Instrument) in direct collaboration with the disability community and multidisciplinary arts organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. The powerful echo and artistic legacy of Mills College CCM (1967-2022) resonates in my design of the corn synth, modeling it after the Buchla 158, the original synthesizer used at the San Francisco Tape Music Center beginning in 1963.

Bergur Anderson is an Icelandic visual artist, producer-composer and sound-maker based in Rotterdam. An electric troubadour playing with songs, voice, poetry and world-making, his practice combines and exists somewhere between music, performance, and conceptual sound art. Unisong, his forthcoming release on Futura Resistenza, will be his fourth with the label — with previous releases including LP Night Time Transmissions (2021) and come, Memory: fieldwork (2023), a collaborative cassette made with visual artist and partner Katrina Niebergal.

Next to his own practice, Bergur collaborates with artists who seek to expand the notion of sound in their practices — as a composer, recordist, sound designer, mixing engineer and performer.

Pétur Eggertsson is a composer who works via visual and performance art. The transformation of sound through arbitrary translations into various mediums (or vice versa) is a focal point in his work, combined with the examination and augmentation of performer and audience roles. Spectators may find themselves influencing the progression of a piece and performers can end up in unfamiliar territories. Pétur is first and foremost interested in the customs and functions of musical performances and wants to create intervention possibilities for all involved. His pieces often go wrong and it can be difficult to decipher if the mistakes are by intention or not.

Bergur vinnur einnig í náinni samvinnu við ýmist listafólk sem leitast eftir að gefa hljóði og tónlist í sinni vinnu – sem tónskáld, upptökustjóri, hljóðhönnuður og flytjandi.

Pétur Eggertsson er tónskáld sem vinnur í gegnum sjónlistir og gjörninga. Umbreyting hljóðs í gegnum handahófskenndar þýðingar í mismunandi miðla (eða öfugt) er í brennidepli í verkum hans. Auk þess eru hlutverk bæði flytjenda og áhorfenda könnuð og aukin.

Áhorfendur geta haft áhrif á framvindu verka hans og flytjendur gætu fundið sig í undarlegum aðstæðum. Hann hefur áhuga á siðum og virkni tónleikahalds og vill skapa inngripstækifæri fyrir alla þátttakendur. Verkin hans fara oft úrskeiðis og það er erfitt að átta sig á hvort mistökin séu tilætluð eða ekki.
