GLUPSK - KRYMPILL Í KERINU
Reykjavík experimental trio Glupsk just released their debut album digitally on Mengi Records. The album consists of the single 40 minute piece krympill í kerinu, played on 2 drum sets, a laptop, 2 guitars, a bass and a trumpet.
Glupsk is a musical project of Vilhjálmur Yngvi Hjálmasson, Örlygur Arnalds & Guðmundur Arnalds. They focus heavily on improvisation and collaborations with other artists, making different frameworks around their live sets every time. Mainly using dusty old laptops and esoteric software but sometimes playing instruments as well.
Krympill í kerinu is the trio's debut release on Mengi Records, having released three shorter improvised works prior. The album was recorded on October 4th, 2021, in Post-húsið. For the album they were joined by guitarist Daniel Meyer Grønvold and drummer Jakub Šulík. The session was recorded in a single evening during a social media blackout. The trio will follow up with another release later in the spring.
