Ensemble Adapter hefur verið leiðandi í flutningi nútímatónlistar síðastliðin 20 ár. Þau hafa frumflutt hundruði verka og starfað með mörgum helstu tónskáldum samtímans. Á þessum tónleikum gefst sjaldgæft tækifæri til að heyra þau flytja eigin verk. Gunnhildur mun frumflytja nýtt verk fyrir hörpu sem byggir að einhverju leyti á óperu hennar “Das Ohr” sem var frumflutt í Philharmonie de Luxembourg árið 2021. Matthias flytur verkið sitt “Indistinct Chatter” fyrir slagverk og vídeó en verkið frumflutti hann í Berlín fyrr í haust.

Á tónleikunum kemur einnig fram í fyrsta sinn hluti samsköpunarhópsins FRIENDS. Hópurinn samanstendur af tónlistarfólki úr samtíma- og tilraunatónlist sem fæst jöfnum höndum við flutning og tónsköpun. Hann þróar ný verkefni úr smiðju meðlima sinna auk þess að kanna fjölbreyttar, þekktar og óþekktar aðferðir í vinnu sinni, innan og út fyrir tónlist og tengda miðla.

Ensemble Adapter and FRIENDS

Ensemble Adapter has been a leader in the performance of contemporary music for the past 20 years. They have premiered hundreds of pieces and worked with many major contemporary composers. This concert is a rare opportunity to hear them perform their own work. Gunnhildur will premiere a new work for harp based to some extent on her opera "Das Ohr", which premiered at the Philharmonie de Luxembourg in 2021. Matthias will perform his piece "Indistinct Chatter" for percussion and video, which he premiered in Berlin earlier this fall.

The concert also sees the first coming together of members from the co-creative collective FRIENDS. The group consists of musicians and composers from the contemporary and experimental scenes who are variably involved as performers and makers. The group develops new works by its members in an open and collaborative setting, using a variety of methods known and unknown. In addition, they are curious to look beyond the boundaries of the mediums of music and sound in their work.
